  • How do I become an HABD resident? Individuals interested in becoming an HABD resident can complete and drop off an application at our George W. McCoy Building (1301 25th Ave. N) or any of our Community Centers during normal business hours
  • How do I become a Section 8 program participant? Individuals interested in a Housing Choice voucher can apply online at habdportals.org
  • Is HABD hiring? HABD is always looking for talented individuals to join the team! If you’re interested, visit our Careers page to learn more and apply
  • I’m a current HABD vendor with a question about payment or services. Who should I contact? If you are a current HABD vendor, you can contact our Procurement Department by calling 205-521-0611. If you are not a current vendor but would like to do business with HABD, visit our Contact Us page to learn more and access pertinent forms
  • How is HABD funded? HABD receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development each fiscal year to continue its services to residents and housing/overall operations. HABD also competes for and receives grant funding from a number of local, state, and federal entities
  • I own a property and am interested in becoming a Section 8 landlord. Who should I contact? If you’re interested in becoming an HABD landlord, you’ll need to complete a Landlord Packet, registering your property and providing all other requested information.
