ABOUT MCHDC

This corporation operates on a non-profit basis for the purposes for which it was organized. It is an instrumentality of the Housing Authority of the Birmingham District for the purpose of financing housing for low-income persons suitable for use for public housing purposes or other charitable purposes consistent herewith; and shall engage in or assist in development, construction or operation of low-income housing within the meaning of the United States Housing Act of 1937.
