Before Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 78 came into existence, Georgia Road served as a main route into, what is now, the east side of Birmingham.  Located in the Gate City neighborhood, as it was the eastern gateway into Birmingham, lies Marks Village.  This 500-unit apartment community of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5-bedroom homes, is located just off Interstate 20 and moments from the Eastwood shopping district.  The community is home to HABD’s Campus of Hope. In partnership with a multitude of social service agencies, HABD’s Campus of Hope is designed to serve as a one-stop shop to assist individuals and families on the road to financial stability, social awareness, and self-sufficiency.  The community is located steps from Birmingham’s Lewis Park which features playgrounds, pavilions, a baseball field, and swimming pool.  Marks Village also provides after-school tutoring and summer programs for resident children.
